The beautiful Mirror Lake Lyceum was the perfect backdrop to this lovely vintage themed wedding. Every detail just proved to me that Megan is a girl after my own heart…from the incredible dessert bar (seriously incredible!) to the beautiful vintage decor, it was all just my style!

The ceremony took place under an intricately carved archway in the Lyceum and then the guest headed downstairs for an Old Cuba themed cocktail hour…loved the dominoe games set out on the tables. It makes our job so much easier when the people we’re shooting are enthusiastic and fun, and this wedding was particularly fabulous because the guests were fun and lively and the couple was so in love. A great combination for amazing photos!

As if Megan’s wedding gown wasn’t gorgeous enough, she changed during the reception into a beautiful silver gown that was the essence of old glamor. An old pulley elevator made the perfect corner for a series of dramatic portraits with Mark and Megan.

Mark & Megan, as always you two were wonderful to work with! I will definitely be showcasing your event at every opportunity!

Christine contacted me several weeks ago to set up an beach engagement session during her Florida vacation…I’m sure they imagined a sunny Florida stay, but it turned out that she was sick and the weather was rainy the whole weekend, definitely frustrating for her I’m sure! But amazingly, the last storm cloud was blowing past just as I arrived to the beach for their session and by the time they arrived it was sunny, and nothing but clear blue skies! Absolutely a beautiful day for the beach!

We had a blast working all the elements at Sand Key Park and I think they definitely got the beach shots they wanted! Christine & Erik – more pictures coming your way soon!

Melissa & Sean

August 27, 2009

Melissa and Sean live in South Florida, so until we met up for their E-Session all of our interactions had been over the phone…yet another reason why I LOVE E-sessions! They are such a great opportunity to interact with my amazing couples before the big day. And I absolutely fell in love with these two!

Out of their love for natural, Florida landscape (and canoeing!) we decided to do their session at the Hillsborough River State Park. I went in to this session hoping for some warm yummy light to be pouring in us by the waters edge…and we ended up with the complete opposite. The skies opened up and the rain didn’t stop, but they worked it…even in the rain! I absolutely adore their free spirits and easygoing nature! And I love these images because they reflect a couple who loves each other and loves life!

It may not have been what we planned, but I think the results are proof that going with the flow is a beautiful thing!
