Laura & Tom

September 15, 2009

Tom has been a friend of my husband and myself for several years now and when Laura came onto the scene it definitely didn’t take long to see how perfectly paired they are! And as a side note I honestly think that Tom and Laura are two of the most brilliant people I know!

Since they met while swing dancing at the Don Vincente in Ybor, and later Tom proposed to Laura at the same location, it was clearly the perfect setting for their big day! I love, love, love watching these two dance, so it was perfect that they incorporated lots of great music and amazing dancing into their reception. My husband, Tosh, and I have gone out to swing night with these two once or twice…and lets just say, well, we’re terrible at it, haha! But I’m so moved by the smooth fluid footwork of all these incredible dance pairs that are a part of the Tampa swing scene. Seriously, its the coolest thing to watch!

It was also a blast to shoot a wedding with so many of our friends there as guests! It was like bring all your friends to work day for me!

And many many thanks to my good friend Justin DeMutiis for second shooting on this wedding! Amazing work as always, Justin!

Faith & Leo

September 15, 2009

So back when I was a junior in college, Faith was my roommate. We lived in a brand new building and they wanted to keep it looking perfect, so the school cleaned our private bathroom…aah…those were the days, haha!

So of course I was very excited to find out that Faith had moved back to Florida and was getting married! After several years of not seeing each other, she definitely looks exactly the same in the very best way!

I just met Leo, but I love that he seems like the perfect compliment to Faith’s fun, independent spirit. Their wedding was a very intimate ceremony on Siesta Key Beach followed by a dinner with their loved ones at the restaurant Cork in Sarasota, which by the way has a great vibe and atmosphere! It rained all day, and the skies were still pretty gray during the ceremony, but the rain held off long enough for them to exchange their vows in poetry and say “I DO!”

Tampa Photo Club

September 5, 2009

The photo club is definitely something I look forward to every month! Since we met on an especially rainy day, this month’s shoot was moved indoors to a mattress store in Tampa. Crazy right? Who would have ever guessed these images were taken in a mattress store!!! Since I recently got a new camera, I decided to test its true powers in the low light at this shoot, so for all you photog friends out there, I shot this entire session at ISO 6400 with only a 70-200 2.8 lens and a video light, no flash at all. I’m so impressed with image quality even at such a consistently high ISO! LOVE it!
