Melissa & Sean

August 27, 2009

Melissa and Sean live in South Florida, so until we met up for their E-Session all of our interactions had been over the phone…yet another reason why I LOVE E-sessions! They are such a great opportunity to interact with my amazing couples before the big day. And I absolutely fell in love with these two!

Out of their love for natural, Florida landscape (and canoeing!) we decided to do their session at the Hillsborough River State Park. I went in to this session hoping for some warm yummy light to be pouring in us by the waters edge…and we ended up with the complete opposite. The skies opened up and the rain didn’t stop, but they worked it…even in the rain! I absolutely adore their free spirits and easygoing nature! And I love these images because they reflect a couple who loves each other and loves life!

It may not have been what we planned, but I think the results are proof that going with the flow is a beautiful thing!

Linda & David E-Session pt1

August 27, 2009

I’m extra excited about this post and the next few still to come because I’ve upgraded some of my gear and I’m definitely pleased with the results! (And I’ve got more exciting equipment surprises to come in the next few wees/months!)

David and Linda are a gorgeous, creative, fun couple…exactly the kind of clients for me! Even though it wasn’t our original plan for the day I really enjoyed shooting with them in this location because its been over a year since I last shot here and its interesting and exciting to see how my vision as a photographer has grown and changed.

So I found out an interesting fact about David on this session…he hates the wind! Thankfully we finished shooting right before a storm rolled in with its wind and all!
E-Session round two is yet to come, but for now, enjoy!

After looking forward to this photography workshop for several months now I have to say that it completely lived up to my hopes and expectations! Photographers-if you ever have an opportunity to take a workshop with Susan Stripling, it is sooo worth it!!!!

I am completely impressed with the simplicity in her approach to lighting and I’m insanely excited that I was able to take these techniques with me and easily incorporate them into my own style and approach on Saturday’s wedding with beautiful results!!! (Photos coming soon!)

I love the simple new discoveries that ignite creativity and passion into photography just when you need it most, so thank you Susan for sharing your experience and expertise!

The following are images I captured during the workshop…the key here is that all of these images were made in the bright, mid-day sun that we always have in Florida and that I will no longer be running from!!!

Not only was the workshop fantastic but aren’t these models GORGEOUS!!!! Even though this was a workshop evironment, I love that they are all real girls and real couples and not professional models…but seriously, they might as well be!
